February is Dental Health Month
On Monday, February 14, 2011, Dr. Merlino, Pedatirc Dentist visited our school. We had a lovely assembly. Dr. Merlino gave a terrific presentation using charts, books, and even some fun props. Students learned all about the importance of brushing and flossing, as well as the healthy foods that keep our teeth and gums strong. She also read some great stories and then students practiced brushing on GIANT TEETH with a GIANT TOOTHBRUSH and flossing on a STUFFED ALLIGATOR. The students loved the hands on experience and had many questions for Dr. Merlino. Dr. Merlino gave each student a coloring book all about teeth, a complimentary oral care packet, and a pencil to take home. THANK YOU DR. MERLINO.
