January: Diversity
This month our focus was on Diversity within our school community. We read many stories about making good choices in school, and our school mascot Wally Wolf helped students to learn about accepting differences in cultures and family traditions. Students also participated in role playing activities using puppets.
In preparation for RESPECT FOR ALL WEEK, we began studying about Bullying. We used our smart-board for all group activities. We visited Brain Pop Jr. and learned the many different kinds of bullying, how not to become a bully, and actions that we can take if we are being bullied.
Students completed web quests using laptops to gather information on the topic and then created their very own comic strips on the topic of bullying. Stay tuned for more to come next week on RESPECT FOR ALL WEEK!!!
